Literacy Blog #7

My book, The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan, is similar to a movie called the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. It reminds me of this because in both they have mythical creatures. For example in The Titan’s Curse they have creatures like satyrs. In the Sorcerer’s Apprentice they have sorcerers. These are different because through the book Percy and his friends are moving from place to place not really staying in one spot.  As in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice they stay in one spot the entire time, New York City. But they both end up in big cities. As I said the Sorcerer’s Apprentice is in New York City, and in The Titan’s Curse they end up in San Francisco. They both are similar because the things that happen in the book are very unrealistic, they could not happen in your everyday life. The main characters however are very different. In the Sorcerer’s Apprentice the main character is very timid and does not a very good self-esteem. The main character Percy is really brave and spontaneous.  They look alike though. Both have dark hair, average or thin build, not very tall, and pale skin. They both are loyal too. In the Sorcerer’s Apprentice at first he doesn’t want to be a sorcerer but then he remains loyal to the Sorcerer and becomes one as well.  Percy however is very loyal and the main point of his trip was to find his friend Anabeth. Even though the book and the movie have differences they are still similar so that is why I chose that movie to talk about.
