So far in The Titan’s Curse by
Rick Riordan, my favorite scene would probably have to be when Percy and his
friends go to the Garden of Hesperides. The Garden of Hesperides is where the
Apples of Immortality were planted. People said if someone was to eat and
apple, they would become immortal. The circumstance in this scene is Percy ,Zoe
and Thalia are at the garden and Zoe must
distract the dragon who guards the garden, Landon. So while she is doing that
Percy and Thalia both go opposite ways to get into the garden. Their plan does
not work very well because Zoe gets poisoned by the dragon. This takes place in
front of the Garden of Hesperides, during the day before the Winter Solstice. I
really liked this scene because it was fast moving and they were not wasting
time on describing what things looked like. They described the scene and what
was going on and used words that made the scene very exciting. I also liked
this scene because Zoe sees her sisters again because she used to live at the Garden
of Hesperides too, but then she betrayed her family and got sent away. I like
how she sees her sisters because they are all really cold towards each other
and I thought that , that part of the book was realistic because her sisters
were still mad at her and that’s probably how regular people would act in that situation.
Overall a good part in this book.
I remember that scene, one of the best parts of the story! Do you think that the way they made their plan to distract the dragon was the best choice? What would you have done in their situation?
ReplyDeleteWhat number is this book in the Percy Jackson series? I've read the first one for grade 8. I was planning to read the others, but I've never gotten around to it yet. With this post I can feel that I'll be reading it sooner than I thought.
ReplyDeleteI know this scene well after watching the original hurcules movie but im curious to see if its any different in the book would you recomend this book for a guy?
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really different book. different being unrealistic. more kind of fantasy and not real life. not really my type with all of the dragons and such. my oppinion
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite books in that series. If you like this book you will love the next 2 books in the series. They are full of action and betrayal!
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that even though this book is a fantasy-esque novel, the characters still resemble what people would do to each other in our non-fiction, real life (the siseters being mad at her).
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a unique book. I like that you stated the setting in detail because I was able to picture the scene easily. Who is your favourite character and why?
