Literacy Blog Assignment #3

This post will be all about the style of writing of Rick Riordan in the book The Titan’s Curse. In this books the authors writing is very informal. His vocabulary is somewhat limited and not very challenging. He does not describe things in a very detailed way, but there is a little bit of description throughout the book. I would say the books difficulty level would be about for someone anywhere from grade 3 to grade 6. There is slang used in this book, and sometimes the characters talk in very short or incomplete sentences. His sentence structures consist of few simple sentences. It is mainly compound sentences and a couple complex sentences.  The sentences are medium length and many of them are dialogue. Well this book is organized into chapters. Within the chapters, they are divided into paragraphs. The text is very structured, which makes it very easy to follow and keep track of where you left off in the book.   I think Rick Riordan chose the write like this because the book is targeted towards children/teenagers. The way the book is written, it is informal so it is more appealing for people of that age to read, and easier to read as well.  I think the author chose to leave details out of the story  so it leaves more up to the imagination , also because it keep the story moving instead of talking about something minor for a whole page. I liked the author’s style because it was not talking about things that were not important in the story. The author stuck to the point of the paragraph and kept the story going, instead of being a slow boring story.
